Vessal Safaei (she/her) is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over ten years of experience working in the mental health sector. Vessal’s experience expands from supporting people with ongoing chronic mental health challenges, to supporting youth from diverse backgrounds and providing trauma counselling to people impacted by trauma and abuse.
Vessal is deeply interested in the relational ways in which people can heal from emotional difficulties.  She thrives to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your stories and discover the strength you carry within. Vessal believes deepening our understanding of ourselves is the only way we can deepen our connection to others and to life itself. 
When it comes to supporting families, Vessal has a particular interest in working with parents to strengthen their connection to their children and find new ways of facing challenges that bring them closer together. 

Qualifications:

Vessal has a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) and a Masters in Social Work. She has completed further training and supervision to register as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with Medicare. She has also completed studies in perinatal mental health, Synergetic Play Therapy as well as Developmental Psychiatry by the Mindful Institute (Melbourne University). Finally, Vessal has training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy which furthers her specialisation in working with the 0 to 5 year-old age group and their primary care givers.
